Since 30.12.2022, we are in Kwale County in Kenya to take on a local project that cares for orphans and widows, in order to advance the expansion of the project. Together with our local partners, we have expanded the scope of our work to include another 14 CBO projects (Community-Based Organisation) in order to work out a strategy for their further development. These are projects that will lead the participants to independence by helping them to become successful entrepreneurs.
Our office is quite airy and sometimes lacks electricity.
After hours of travelling through the very rural surroundings, we have now almost completed the paperwork and are submitting the documents to the local decision-makers. We are curious to see how the decisions will turn out.
As a background information on the labour situation in Kenya, our team member Japheth Munyoki from Africa mentions that only about 15% of the population have a regular job in the sense of a full-time job with enough salary to live on. 25% of the population are self-employed and can make a living out of it that is adequate. 60% of the population are in work situations that are not sufficient to make a living or are completely without a job or livelihood.
True to our motto “Let your ideas meet our visionary project excellence, they will take life.” we also travel to distant countries for our clients to fulfil our value proposition.
