Swiss Post’s Home Delivery Service Order Pen

As a project manager at the Swiss Post Office, I had the opportunity to work with a top team in the development and production of the order pen.

The ordering pen uses Swisscom’s LoRaWAN connectivity for data transfer. Swiss Post has played a major role in building the LoRaWAN network in Switzerland in the last few years. As a team, we had the privilege of receiving the “Retail/Customer Service Award” of the Parcel and Postal Technology International Exhibition on 13.10.2020.

And what a nice ending the ordering pen makes it on TV as a quiz question.

IoT devices can currently not yet easily be integrated into a value-adding process, which is why the total number of IoT devices in the field is still significantly below expectations. Swiss Post has succeeded in developing a universally applicable IoT Device that can be used for various process optimizations. Swiss Post uses the device for its home service to call the postman at the touch of a button. See the short explanatory video.
